Kuruçeşme Arena was an open-air music venue located at Kuruçeşme neighborhood of Beşiktaş district in Istanbul, Turkey. It is also used as an outdoor cinema. The capacity of the arena was 17,000. The site had a big collective memory for people all over Turkey. Today, it transformed into a hotel.
The new program requires a 1000-1500 seat performing arts center and a theatre, with proposed programs.
The design idea starts with reconnecting the coastal side allover Bosphorus and recreate the old open performing space. The performing arts center, theatre, and education facilities are placed on the roadside. In this process, the main concerns are the relationship between masses and the topography, Bosphorus view from the roadside, and creating a major public space that can accompany the social event, concerts, and performances.
